Computer, begin log.

The USS Midway came under heavy attack today and confronted a great foe. I witnessed horrible carnage this day. I saw many faces die, horribly, and without mercy. It was not ....

...

... my mind remembers the things, people burning, dying. It is not good to remember. The ships systems are still testy at best, despite our best efforts. I was a part of the response in Damage Control Team Bravo. Ensign Page on another. We had our claws full. I managed to restore weapons and power at one point. Page many other systems.

Somehow we live. I will try to contact my mate now. Her voice will chase these nightmares away. I know it will.
