Computer, begin log.

I, Erahlik Ghil Ezazzan, have graduated Starfleet Academy. I gave it my best shot and succeeded in my goals, however my father is slightly disappointed in my marginal results. I understand his disappointment. I am representing Clan Ezazzan out here at the very core of Starfleet. I must better prepare my understanding. As my father instructed me, I must with all due haste take seriously my profession. Everything else is secondary.

Except my love. Sreed and I have been in constant contact. I was blessed by the Ancestors to meet her a final time for a few days post graduation. We eagerly embraced our time together. It was well spent and worth the effort. My mate is considerate of me, supportive, and I of her. I have heard she is already in prospects for the lucrative Second Officer position. I am proud of her.

Yet as proud she is of me to see I am an Ensign in Starfleet, I know that I am myself just beginning my journey. Only a few Gorn are in Starfleet presently, very few in fact. I was only granted this blessing by my Fathers connections. Had it not been so, I would not be here. I must atone and pay back that blessing for the Clan. I will pay it back with honor to my Father and Clan, and ultimately a future preserved for my mate and I.

My assignment has been shown to me. I am now the Damage Control Specialist to the Constitution-class Starship, USS Midway. My father is proud of me for this. He says the Constitution-class is a very honorable class of ship. He reminded me of that. I am indeed honored.
