| Personal History | Parker’s parents Charles and Emilie met and married in college, neither of them interested in Starfleet so they met at Oxford. Both from well to do families, it was a good relationship and one that was approved by both families. Charles went into the family law firm and Emilie began her internship at the local hospital. They moved into a house just outside of London. Charles was 24 and Emilie was 23 when they had their first child, a boy named Benedict. He was followed 2 years later by Andrew. Then four years after that, their daughter Chrystal was born, followed 3 years later by Summer. Their 5th and final child, Parker was born in 2247. They had been expecting a boy, but Parker surprised them. The Gallagher family has been deeply involved in politics and diplomacy for centuries and their family is a very old family, so by the time Parker was born, her father was no a diplomatic attaché on Vulcan. Parker and her older sister Summer had both been born on Vulcan. Parker grew up in the Federations embassy on Vulcan, looked after by a mix of Vulcan and Human nannies and carers. She was tutored from the age of 3 to read and count and by the age of six was well ahead of normal human children due to the accelerated education program she had been subjected to. Parker barely saw her parents or her older brothers and sisters, as they were all sent to school on Earth at age 6 so, she was basically an only child. Parker was to be educated on Vulcan as well and found herself in a school of Vulcan students. Parker was shy and withdrawn as a child and these traits kept her silent in the face of the stoic logic driven Vulcan children. It also pushed her hard to succeed in her education. Parker kept to herself, worked hard, earned grudging praise from her Vulcan tutors and ignored her classmates. She in essence became invisible within her schooling years. But it helped with her listening skills. Something she would later employ in her career of choice. Her grades pleased her parents, but her lack of social skills did not. When they moved back to Earth when she was 10 her mother summoned a tutor in social interactions and from the age of 10 to 16, Parker was tutored in both her deportment and social interactions as well as working on her own schooling. When she was 13, they were stationed on Andoria. Considering the options, Parker knew that she was to follow her siblings into the Diplomatic Corps after a period at university and she did not want that. She wanted Starfleet. So she acquiesced to her parents in regards to the tutoring knowing that it would help when she went to Starfleet. And secretly applied to Starfleet. Parker graduated from Secondary School at age 16, and her father dragooned her into the Embassy for the period of her break from education as he had done ever since she had been old enough. She met there a number of different Starfleet officers and made a number of useful contacts with citizens as they passed through the embassy. 2264 – Commenced at Starfleet academy. Aged 17 Parker used those same contacts to leave Andoria just before the start of the University Year, her parents fully believing that she would accept the honour of being a human at the Vulcan University studying diplomacy and didn’t realise she was gone until it was too late. She enrolled at Starfleet academy and put her name down for Counselling. She threw herself into the courses around psychiatry and mental health care. Her first year passed easily, and she avoided being dragged to the family manor house in England due to the fact that she had signed her agreement with Starfleet to stay in the fleet for a period of 10 years. She also managed to refuse the arranged marriage her parents rushed to push on her. 2265 She spent hours learning and throwing herself into the course work. As her second year took her deeper into her chosen profession. Parker made sure she did socialise but she chose not to make a big deal about it. 2266 Parker’s third year passed just as easily as the previous two, working hard to get good grades, looking to graduate in the upper levels of her class. She chose a few strange classes just to give herself a bit more of a rounded education. 2267 When her parents died in a shuttle accident, she was notified last. She dutifully attended the memorial for her parents and again refused to fall into the family line of marriage and a career in the diplomatic corps. She inherited a house in Hawaii from her parents and a nice sum of funds which were not entailed. Parker gave up her apartment in San Francisco and moved her belongings to the house in Hawaii. And promptly locked her family out with the security system with the assistance of her Sister Summer. She returned to Starfleet academy to finish off her final year. 2268 When Parker graduated in the top 20% of her class, she was sent to the USS Midway as a junior Psychiatrist. Being a newly minted ensign, she is eager to learn. She has goals and one day she would have her own practice on Earth. Relationships: Charles Parker Gallagher(Deceased 2267) Parker's relationship with her father can be described as distant. He was never close to her and ignored her until she grew up. Emilie Susan Gallagher (Deceased 2267) Her relationship with her mother was worse than with her father. Emilie had a bad habit of having children and passing them off to nannies and such, ignoring them until they could join the family business. Benedict Charles Gallagher (aged 35) Born 2233 Perfect Child, golden boy, Glory to him - BLEH, Parker does not get on with Benedict and even after their parents died he tried to act like her father and ordered her to tow the line but Parker, along with Summer, both rejected that. He married a woman who is more like a stepford bride. They have 3 children who Parker has barely any relationship with. They occasionally get gifts from her. Wife’s name: Sarah Gallagher Children’s Name: Edward Gallagher, Charlotte Gallagher, Emma-Leigh Gallagher Andrew William Gallagher (aged 33) Born 2235 Andrew the spare to the heir, is very different when his father and brother are not around. Andrew is in the closet and refuses to come out. His wife knows, his younger sisters know, but he puts up the facade and continues to work in the law firm he got into when he finished university. He has two children, a boy and a girl. And Parker sends them gifts on their birthdays, the only niece and nephew she acknowledges fully. Wife’s Name: Jasmine Gallagher Children’s name: Kalissa Gallagher, Harrison Gallagher Chrystal Hera Davenport (Aged 29) Born 2239 The Princess of the family, Chrystal had done everything her parents wanted. Married the man they chose, did the schooling they wanted. She ignored her younger siblings. She lives in London and does not speak to her sisters and rarely with her older brothers. She and her husband, who is a lawyer, have 4 children, a set of twins and then two more, split evenly down the genderlines. Husband’s Name: Michael Westfield Children’s names: James and Julie Westfield, Henry Westfield, Louise Westfield. Summer Athena Gallagher (Aged 27) Born 2241 Even though 6 years separated them, Summer was the closest of her siblings to her. Both were ones who liked reading and spending time apart. Summer was also her hero as she went into Starfleet as well, but her sister was an intelligence officer. She is not married and enjoys a free life. |
