Personal History Early Years

Ronan was born and raised on Betazed, following the traditions of his homeworld that he deeply believed in. He wanted to please his parents and to be a good son. Ronan loved the culture of his people and being a Betazoid. He didn’t really think of anything much outside his home world, on betazed. He was the middle child of three.

When Ronan’s parents approached him about bonding with Zoya Solwick, Ronan was curious and asked lots of questions, wanting his parents to explain more. He knew of the Solwick family, who on Betazed didn’t? Ronan understood the honor of bonding with their daughter Zoya and he agreed to it without giving it much thought.

At first, when Ronan met Zoya he wasn’t certain this was the right thing for him to do. He was shy and reserved. Zoya wasn’t one bit shy and it helped him to relax and soon they were talking to each other like they had known each other a long time. They started playing together and he felt a bond surge between him and Zoya. It was indescribable. A feeling like nothing he had ever felt before. It was as if they were linked, a part of each other now. Ronan felt good about it, he was happy he had gone through with it and to know that someday they would be together.

Ronan left feeling like he was different. He missed Zoya, which was weird because they had just met that day but he felt like a piece of himself had gone with her. It scared him a bit but looking at his parents, he felt much better. They were so happy that the bond had happened.

Ronan went home and his life went back to the way it was. He thought of Zoya at times and their parents made certain they saw each other. Ronan felt the bond pulling him in more and more each time he was with her. For Ronan it was a good feeling and he anxiously looked forward to the day they would be together for always.

HIGH SCHOOL YEARS

As Ronan got older, he had a best friend, Ivano. They could talk about anything and Ronan spoke of his bond. Ivano had one as well and he too was looking forward to bonding with her. Ronan also was starting to pursue a career and it was the one thing they did not agree on. His parents wanted him to become a teacher and he wanted to pursue a career with Starfleet. Ronan was interested in serving in the Operations area. He planned to study particular areas of operations and would make a decision when he was close to graduation.

While in school, there were girls that wanted to date Ronan but he didn’t feel right even attempting to see someone else. The bond meant a lot to him and he wanted to come to Zoya without anything tarnishing their relationship. Ronan did go to dances with girls, he liked the parties but at the end of the night he always went home alone. Ivano tried to tell him that chances were Zoya would not come to him that way. It was acceptable to have had relationships before they started their lives together. Ronan naively thought that Zoya would want the same thing after all, they were bonded.

The more Ronan talked about Starfleet the more his parents resisted. He explained that he had begun to feel as if he wanted to see more than just Betazed. He loved his culture and traditions but he also didn’t want to have regrets, he wanted to explore, to make a difference. It was weird but just before he graduated, his parents suddenly agreed and became very supportive of his career choice. Ronan was stunned that they would do an about face but he wasn’t going to argue. He was going to be able to go to Starfleet Academy.

Then, his parents let the cat out of the bag and told him that Zoya would be there. Ronan knew he should be upset but their manipulation was only serving a good purpose for him. He wanted to see Zoya. To feel that connection. Perhaps they would start their lives together while at the academy and they could serve together. That made him happy.

Ronan was shy and reserved growing up. He knew he wasn't meant to be a teacher but he didn't say much to his parents, only to his friend, Rhys Walsh. Rhys parents were ambassadors to Betazed and the boys had become fast friends.

Rhys was a big influence on his friend telling him he didn't have to live in the bubble his parents insisted on. He showed him pictures of places he had been with his parents and Ronan felt an urge to leave Betazed and see what was out there.

Ronan knew by the time he finished high school he wanted to be an operations officer. Against his parents wishes, he signed up. His mother informed him he needed to stay home and settle down, he had been promised in marriage to a 'Solwick' and it was a high honor. Ronan packed his things and left feeling like if they were meant to be, fate would bring them together.

Academy Days

Ronan packed up his things and headed to the Academy, feeling a bubbling excitement in his chest. The day he had long awaited had finally arrived - his academy days studying in operations to be a quartermaster were about to begin. The thought of serving for Starfleet filled him with a sense of adventure and purpose.

As he strolled through the bustling corridors, Ronan couldn't help but think of Zoya. Their bond had always been strong, even stronger than most Betazoid connections. But life had taken them on different paths, and they hadn't seen each other in a long time. Yet, something told Ronan that their bond remained, unchanged by time and distance.

He entered the lunchroom at the Academy, drawing stares as the eager cadets welcomed him with curious gazes. Ronan scanned the room, his eyes searching for a familiar face. And there she was - Zoya, Even after all this time, she was as captivating as ever
.
Ronan wondered if Zoya would recognize him. He had changed since they last met, both inside and out. But their Betazoid connection was a force that transcended physical appearances. It was a connection of emotions, thoughts, and memories. It was a bond that Ronan hoped would make her take notice.

Ronan had taken a few steps towards her when he saw her. Zoya was sitting alone, her eyes a mix of anticipation and apprehension. He had wanted to approach her, to let her know he was here and ready to go forward with what was started so long ago with a bond. But fate took a different turn.

As Ronan made his way towards her, he noticed another man approaching from the corner of his eye. The man walked with confidence, a slight swagger in his step. Ronan's heart dropped as he watched the man sit down next to her, their familiarity evident. And then, without hesitation, they kissed.

Ronan felt like a trespasser, an intruder in this intimate moment between two strangers. Confusion and disappointment washed over him as he stood there, his world crumbling around him. He turned and left, unsure of what to do next. It was a surreal experience, knowing he had felt a bond with someone who was now slipping away.

Walking aimlessly through the bustling city streets, Ronan's mind raced with a million thoughts.
He felt betrayed by both her and his parents. He had a feeling that they had known. They could have saved him the heartache, he knew he couldn’t just walk away the bond was too strong.

For several weeks, Ronan did everything in his power to avoid areas where he might accidentally run into Zoya. His heart couldn't handle seeing her, not after what he had witnessed. So, he focused all his energy on his studies and immersed himself in his courses at Starfleet Academy
.
Ronan's dedication to his education was unwavering. He spent countless hours in the library, poring over textbooks and devouring every bit of knowledge they contained. He pushed himself to the limits, determined to prove that he could succeed despite the turmoil in his heart.

One by one, Ronan conquered his classes. He aced his helmsman courses, excelled in operations strategy.. His professors noticed his dedication and commitment, and he quickly became a respected figure among his peers.

But no matter how well Ronan was doing academically, he still couldn't escape the painful memories that lingered in his mind. The moments he and Zoya had shared over the years haunted him and the bond made it difficult to concentrate on anything else.

Ronan was headed to class, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of the upcoming assignments and exams. Lost in his own world, he scarcely noticed the bustling hallways or the cheerful chatter around him. The monotony of his routine was abruptly shattered when he glanced at his schedule and felt an unfamiliar pull in the depths of his being.

Confused, Ronan looked up, searching for the source of this inexplicable sensation. And there, right in front of him, stood Zoya. Her eyes met his, and a surge of energy passed between them, as though an invisible thread connected their souls. The bond, strong and undeniable, tugged at both of them, causing a mix of surprise, curiosity, and uncertainty.

Zoya's expression quickly shifted from surprise to anger, her brows furrowing as if Ronan had committed an unforgivable offense. Perplexed, Ronan could only assume that she hadn't expected this connection to persist. Had she thought their bond would simply fade away like a thief in the night?

Ronan didn't try to fight the bond, what was the point? They had been destined to be together since their first bond back home on Betazed. Zoya demanded that they end the bond, and Ronan shook his head. It wasn't in him to argue with others, but the bond was overpowering. Plus, he didn't have a clue how to end it.

Whenever he was close to her, it became so strong that Ronan didn't want it to end. Even after what he had witnessed, he couldn't bring himself to hate her.The bond between them was unique, born out of their shared ancestry and a connection that transcended time and space.

Ronan sat alone at the dimly lit bar, nursing a drink to numb the ache within. It had been a tiring day, and he felt the weight of his decisions pressing down on him. As fate would have it, just as he contemplated his next move, Zoya walked in, taking the empty seat beside him. A weary smile spread across Ronan's face as he glanced at her.

Zoya was so beautiful and their bond always seemed to bring a glimmer of hope to his darkened world. But tonight, he couldn't shake the looming realization that no matter what path he chose, someone would suffer.

Ordering her own drink, Zoya leaned towards Ronan, her voice soft as she whispered that they needed to talk, they needed to end their bond.

Ronan's heart sank as he considered the gravity of their situation. He knew that as long as he was this close to her it would be hard to make a choice that would spare them both pain. But as he stared into her eyes, he found himself unable to resist delving into the depths of their shared dilemma.

Words eluded Ronan as he searched for an appropriate response. How could he express the turmoil that tore at him whenever he was near her? In this moment, he yearned for the solitude of his dorm room, where the influence of their bond was less potent, and his thinking less clouded.
Ronan's mind wandered to the man Zoya had chosen to be with. The thought tugged painfully at his heart. What right did he have to interfere in the life she desired with another?

As they sat and talked, the flickering candlelight cast dancing shadows on their faces. The air was heavy with the aroma of whiskey, with glasses clinking occasionally as they refilled them.

Hours slipped away unnoticed as their conversation flowed effortlessly, leading them to a place where inhibitions were left at the door. It wasn't long before neither Ronan nor Zoya was thinking straight. Laughter erupted from their souls, their guards crumbling with each sip. The night wore on, and the world outside the bar seemed to fade into insignificance.

Fighting against the intoxicating haze, Ronan realized it was his responsibility to ensure Zoya reached home safely. Guiding her through the dimly lit streets, they wandered under a canopy of stars, their steps faltering slightly. As they arrived at her door, a powerful force tugged at their souls, drawing them closer together. Zoya instinctively leaned into Ronan, her eyes reflecting both vulnerability and longing.

Unable to resist, Ronan cupped her face, his lips claiming hers in a kiss that ignited a wildfire within them both. In that moment, they moved beyond rationality, surrendering to an all-encompassing desire. The bond that had formed between them was undeniable, engulfing their bodies and souls with a passion so intense it defied the boundaries of reality.

The night they spent together was a symphony of fervor and connection. Time ceased to exist as they explored the depths of each other's hearts, leaving behind a trail of electrifying moments etched in their memories. It was a pure and profound experience, one that left them breathless and irrevocably changed.

As morning broke, the veil of passion lifted, and reality crashed down upon them. Ronan saw the faint glimmer of regret and heartbreak in Zoya's eyes, mirroring the tumultuous emotions stirring within his own chest. With a heavy heart, he quietly slipped away from her dormitory, leaving behind an empty space that echoed their shared vulnerability. Despite the ache they both felt, Ronan harbored no regrets. Deep down, he knew that what they had shared was more than just a fleeting experience. It was a glimpse into a connection destined to be discovered, a bond that transcended the boundaries of time and circumstance.

Ronan had hoped that this was the beginning of a fresh start for them, a chance to build a future together. But instead, Zoya avoided him as if he was the plague. It hurt him deeply to realize that she was avoiding her own parents as well. Ronan couldn't comprehend why Zoya would distance herself from everyone, especially during such a significant time in their lives.

As the news reached Ronan through his concerned mother, his heart shattered into a thousand pieces. Zoya was pregnant with their child, yet she seemed determined to navigate this journey alone. The weight of the situation sank in, and Ronan knew he couldn't be an absent parent. No matter what obstacles lay in their path, he was determined to be a part of their child's life.

Struggling to understand why Zoya had turned away from him, Ronan continued his studies, pouring his focus into his classes. His days were filled with readings, research, and the occasional stolen glance at his phone, hoping for a message that never came. But as her due date drew closer, a gnawing sadness settled within him. He yearned to be present, to support Zoya during this transformative time.

When Ronan heard from Zoya that they had a daughter, her name was Suki, he was overwhelmed with happiness. It was intermingled with concern over how he was going to be able to be a father to her when he and Zoya would more than likely be serving elsewhere.

Once they graduated, Ronan was waiting for his assignment, impatient to find out where he was serving.

To his surprise he found out he would be going with Zoya on the USS Midway. It gave him hope to find out that Zoya and her parents had used their influence to get them assigned together. Ronan vowed that he would take this slowly, let Zoya discover for herself that from the day they were bonded it was fate. He was feeling excited and upbeat about the future now that he knew they would be serving together.
