Personality & Traits
General Overview | Likes: Regimentation of Starfleet life. Anything of the old west or fleet history. Mid-20th century rock and roll. The idea of serving in space. Dislikes: Disruptions to the norm. Disrespect at or from, any level. The enemy, by any definition. Desk jobs. Quirks: Has a tendency to call God "Henry" |

Strengths & Weaknesses | Loyal to a fault. Dependable under stress or fire. Leads by example. Often seen as aloof or disinterested. Exercises limited involvement outside his crew whom he considers family. Considered to be somewhat of a loner in that respect. Will "stand and fight" with no thought to "run". Which causes him some trouble from time to time. Likes: Regimentation of Starfleet life. Anything of the old west or fleet history. Mid-20th century rock and roll. The idea of serving in space. Personal History | 2239-2245 Attended Emerson Elementary School 2245-2247: Attended Eastmont Middle School 2247-2551: Attended Mark Keppel High School in Alhambra, California. 2251-2254: Attended the University of California at Los Angeles through an athletic scholarship. Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a minor in Military Science Born in Omaha, Nebraska, his mother Winona died during child birth. His father was a career Starfleet Security Officer. As a result he was raised by his Aunt Claire. John lacked for nothing material or psychological. At age five his aunt moved them to Monterey Park, California to a house his father had bought. He had a distant relationship with his father who was always stationed somewhere far off in space, and was seldom home on leave. But he wrote his son weekly, letters John treasured. Those and the occasional picture he would send. His father was killed in a fire fight with insurgents while serving on Alfa Eight when John was twelve. In high school, he excelled in football but had average grades. UCLA offered him a full-ride scholarship. He was a good student and an above-average football player, his Aunt Claire passed his junior year, and John Stryker was alone in life. He never considered the next level of football, as joining Starfleet had become an obsession. Once the decision to follow in his father’s footsteps had been made. Though he would certainly have a degree, and with that, he would qualify for admission to Starfleet Academy. John reluctantly, but instinctively, detached from his girl, Kim Morgan. His reasoning was, that he would leave no one behind. Something that almost worked. He also withdrew from everyone but his team until the end of his senior season, then he maintained very few close friends, as he understood his calling and its demands. His rationale, once he left school, there would be few if any relationships to sever. The day after graduation he was at Starfleet Entrance Processing Station, in Los Angeles California, and sent directly to Starfleet Academy San Francisco, California. Medical/Psychology Report: "Fleet recruit John Stryker has no debilitating injuries in his life. Reports a broken leg at age sixteen that has healed with no ill effects. He reports no abnormal breathing and his lungs are clear. There are no personality traits evident that would keep Fleet Recruit Stryker from completing Starfleet Training and serving at the highest standard of the Federation. Captain A. Kellerher MD, PhD, Los Angeles, California. 2354/14/September." |
